Hi, I’m Nicole.

For the past 27 years, I have spent countless hours teaching students how to read deeply, think critically, and transfer what they have learned into clear, evidence-based writing.

When I started using AI tools, I saw how much they could accelerate planning, enrich questions, and help complex texts become more accessible. BUT I also saw how easily AI creates shortcuts that bypass real thinking. I thought there had to be a better way — one that used classroom learning to drive end product.

That’s why I built SmartEssay.AI and Smart-Reader.ai: AI-powered writing and reading companions designed as teacher-led sessions.

The AI doesn’t do the thinking for you. It scaffolds the process, adds suggestions, and evaluates responses so students stay active, curious, and in control. My goal is to deepen comprehension for ALL people.
